The named event and designer give it a specific identity within a collection of twentieth-century posters. Choose it for a study, living room or gallery wall devoted to British cultural history, or as a gift for someone with an interest in mid-century graphic design.

About the poster

The Festival of Britain celebrated British art, design and technology after the Second World War. This poster connects your display with that event and its forward-looking context. Rather than choosing a general decorative print, you can build a collection around a particular moment in British history, with Games’ work providing a starting point for exploring event posters and advertising from the period.

A personal corner for design history

Imagine displaying the print above a reading desk, with warm wooden furniture, a softly lit lamp and a few favourite design books nearby. It can introduce a historical connection into an everyday room without requiring the entire space to follow a mid-century style. The recorded beige, blue and red palette provides a starting point for coordinating accessories or companion posters in related tones.

A smaller format can join an established gallery arrangement, while a larger print gives the Festival of Britain subject a more prominent place. Pairing it with other twentieth-century works lets different artists and purposes sit together, from cultural events to transport advertising. Consider the available wall space and surrounding furniture before choosing the size that best suits your setting.

Paper, printing and finish

This product is a reproduction, not an original 1951 Festival of Britain poster. It is produced using giclée printing on 200gsm matte art paper, offering a matte paper surface for your chosen display.
