Fairy Art Prints

Cicely Mary Barker (1895-1973) was an English illustrator best known for her Flower Fairies series of children's books. She was born in Croydon, Surrey, and began drawing and painting at a young age. After studying at the Croydon School of Art, Barker began working as a freelance illustrator, creating illustrations for magazines and greeting cards. In the 1920s, she began creating the Flower Fairies, a series of books featuring delicate, ethereal fairies based on British wildflowers. The books were an immediate success and made Barker one of the most beloved children's book illustrators of the 20th century. Barker continued to work as an illustrator throughout her life, and her legacy lives on through her charming and whimsical illustrations, which continue to inspire children and adults alike.
