Pop art Era (1950s - 1980s) | Vintage Wall Art Prints Shop

Welcome to the vintage wall art prints shop extraordinaire!

Pop art emerged in the 1950s and reached its peak in the 1960s, characterised by its incorporation of popular culture and everyday objects into art.

Artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein sought to challenge traditional notions of what constituted art, creating works that often featured imagery and objects from consumer culture, such as advertisements, comic books, and household items.

Pop art was a response to the increasing commercialisation of society and the rise of mass media, and sought to blur the boundaries between high and low art.

In the 1970s and 1980s, pop art continued to evolve, with artists like Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat incorporating political and social commentary into their work.
